1 MIRISSA BEACH

There are many beautiful places to visit in Mirissa, but it's definitely a touristy town. If you're staying nearby, it's worth visiting for the sunset and the chance to see nearby surfers. For dinner, choose your fish and have it cooked for you while you enjoy a drink. We visited Mirissa for 10 days and ate at four seaside restaurants. We also took walks on all of the beaches, swam with turtles, practiced yoga, massaged, and met lots of friendly people. The best part about Mirissa is that there are so many beautiful beaches to visit. The western beach is the biggest and we especially enjoyed sitting near the turtles. Turtle Bar was one of our favorite places to hang out; the staff is wonderful and the food was great.
2 TANGALLE BEACH

Known for its tranquility, Tangalle Beach offers a serene atmosphere and calm waters.
3 AHUNGALLA BEACH
That’s the best beach in south eastern area . Yes there are some waves , but you can manage it. It’s super clean , lovely and endless . We travelled from east to south and were lucky to stay at most of the key touristic spots and beaches , but I’m definitely in love with Ahungalla beach"

4 UNAWATUNA BEACH (MOSTLY RECOMMONDATION)

Unawatuna is a coastal town in Galle district of Sri Lanka. Unawatuna is a major tourist attraction in Sri Lanka and known for its beach and corals. It is a suburb of Galle, about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) southeast to the city center and approximately 108 kilometres (67 mi) south of Colombo. Unawatuna is situated at an elevation of 5 metres (16 ft) above the sea level. Despite significant development in the last decade it is still home to the endangered and endemic purple-faced langur, an usually shy monkey species that can only be found in Sri Lanka's forests.
5 HIRIKATIYA BEACH
Hiriketiya Beach is one of the places we had heard least about when we were planning our 3 week trip around Sri Lanka. I wouldn’t quite call it the hidden gem of the south coast, as it is growing in popularity, but it’s not too far off it.
7 HIRIKATIYA BEACH
Hikkaduwa is a small town on the south coast of Sri Lanka about 14 km (8.7 mi) northwest of Galle. It is Sri Lanka's most developed beach resort, well known for surfing and sea turtles.[19] The surrounding waters contain a coral sanctuary that is a large shallow body of water enclosed by a reef. There is also a small collection of small islets off the beach.[20]

6 POLHENA BEACH
Polhena is a beach located in Matara and contains a 1.2 km (0.75 mi) long coral reef about 80 m (260 ft) off the shore. Because of this, the water near the shore is relatively calm and is a common spot for tourists to swim.[18] Numerous people can be seen snorkeling, surfing and sunbathing along Polhena Beach. 8 NEGOMBO BEACH
Negombo is a beach town located 7 km (4.3 mi) from Bandaranaike International Airport and approximately 37 km (23 mi) from Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka[1] It is also located at the mouth of the Negombo lagoon. The town's economy is based largely on tourism and the fishing industry, as it is home to wide beaches and a calm sea.[2]
9 ARUGAMBE BEACH
A long coastal town spread out along the sea and beaches. I can say that Arugam Bay is a very relaxed surfer town, I could say that it pulls on the hippie scene. They have beautiful beaches, excellent spots for surfing, near the Yalaa Park and get to the other. We were there during the season, it was happening every day, you have beach parties, restaurants with excellent food... Don't be surprised if you see people walking barefoot around town with a surfboard under their arms and a smile on their face, this is Arugam bay

10 PASIKUDA BEACH
Deserted paradise
Just back from Sri lanka, where we stayed in Anantaya resort on Passikudah beach. As I mentioned in a previous review for Arugam bay, it was of season and they are recovering from being closed for 2 years for Covid. Positives: The resort is really beautiful and its situated on a magnificent beach. The people at the resort could not have been any friendlier and helpful. The upgrade they gave us had a swim up pool right to our room, which was fab. The resort is really a 5 start resort and it felt like that staying there. Food was very varied and really good Less positive feedback There was no more than 10 people at the resort while we were there, which made it feel empty. Most of the bars and restaurants that were advertised were closed. (only 1 was open) They set up a temp restaurant and bar, so when people were finished dinner it then closed. (around 8pm) We knew it would be off season, but didnt realise it would be so quiet, especially in the evening. I would certainly recommend Anantaya resort and Passikudah as a fantastic destination, but plan your visit between May and September, when all the facilities should be open.
