Snorkling

Thinking of going to Sri Lanka for the first time, which hotel is nice for snorkelling, and have a lovely sandy beachAll advice gratefully appreciated. Also do you get heckling on the beaches?

Unawatuna is gorgeous but you get hassled. Mirissa is beautiful too and no hassle on the beach. We spent time in both. We got to know the old boys on the beach at Unawatuna and their stories were heartbreaking.

They are just trying to earn a living chat to them and spend a few £ it might just make their day....and feed their kids

Hi dear, I highly recommend to you Hikkaduwa beach for snorkeling.

In north pigeon island is best and in south unawatuna is best but these days it's none seasonal raining so better to wait sometimes

Dodanduwa just along from Hikkaduwa, nice and quiet no sellers on beach , it can get rough sometimes
