COFEE 

Il be visiting Sri Lanka for a few month. I’m debating packing a small coffee percolator with me as I love my coffee. However, I’m just curious to know if coffee beans are available and if any quality.

I only ask because I know Sri Lanka tends to be a tea (chai) drinking country.

Coffee is hit and miss. Bring your own, particularly if you are staying in guest houses or non hotel accommodation as you may get a couple of sachets of nescafe if you are lucky but don't always get those either and a good espresso is not easy outside of the cities

Hi, in Dolce Italia they sell Coffee Beans always. So not to worry you won't find any. I toke my coffee machine with me as well

THE BEST ANSWER

Very difficult to get beans or espresso powder outside of the big cities so stock up when you are in Colombo or Kandy or bring your own. Natural Coffee in Kandy is a really nice coffee shop selling Sri Lankan beans and espresso powder. There are also coffee shops in more touristy centres where you can get a decent cup.

VISA EXTENSTION

Q Hello. I just arrived in Colombo and would like to extend my tourist visa to 90 days. Couple of questions: Where exactly is the office i need to go to? What do i need to take (passport of course, but anything else?). Are there are good/bad days this week to go (mercantile holidays and whatnot). Thanks so much, CR

A Once you are in the country, initially thought, you cannot complete this process online, unless, using a 3rd party. However, recently they have added a Non-Resident Visa Extension section to do this process on the official

In-person:

To obtain the necessary visa extension, visit the Battaramulla immigration office, which is easily accessible by bus. Be sure to bring your passport and a passport-sized photo, which can usually be obtained in the area. While it's a good practice to have details of your onward flight available, it's worth noting that I've never been asked for them personally. At the immigration office, you'll be required to fill out the necessary forms. Typically, this process can be completed within a few hours, and it's advisable to handle it on your own
